Basel Square |
|
|
In the north of Tel Aviv, Basel Square is one of the most popular places to sit and have a coffee.
In the heart of northern Tel Aviv, Basel Square is the Yuppie and hip place to sit down for a drink of coffee and croissant in the morning or afternoon. It is a large square with shops, cafés and small restaurants scattered around it. There isn't any particular sightseeing attraction, but the ambience is very pleasant and it might give you a feel of the local vibe.
For a coffee try Arcafé ( 35 Bazel St.) who also have wonderful pastries, or Elkali ( 1 Elkali St. (03) 604-1260), which has a trendy air. Another charming little place is the nearby Lulu (5 Elkali St. (03) 602-0805), which offers tasty breakfasts and a relaxing atmosphere. There is a lovely artsy gift shop on the square called Del-Arte ( 9 Ashturi Hapharchi St. (03) 546-6993), they have some gorgeous items handmade by artists and designers.
Location: The northern side of the center Near Ibn-Gavirol St. and between Jabotinsky St. and Nordau Blvd.
