    Neve Tzedek Tel Aviv Neve Tzedek is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas in Tel Aviv. In this article we offer a short introduction to its charming streets.

    The Neighborhood's History

    South of the Yemenite Quarter, Neve Tzedek was the first neighborhood built in the “new” city of Tel Aviv, back in 1887.  At the beginning of the 20th century Neve Tzedek was the home of many artists and writers, such as Brenner and Agnon (a Nobel Prize winning author). 
    But in the following years the area suffered from neglect, the old houses and streets crumbling away. Only in the 1980's, the place recaptured its former prestige, and has since become a stylish yuppie residence with plenty of restaurants, galleries and designer shops. 
    The architecture of Neve Tzedek is definitely one of the highlights in the area.  Beautiful old houses restored to grandeur by modern architects and designers.

    Around the Neighborhood

    • The Rokach House - One of the first houses in Neve Tzedek, which belonged to the well-known Rokach family. In the late 80's the house was restored by Lea Majaro Mintz, the granddaughter of the original owner.

    • The Suzzane Dellal Center – Tel Aviv's official dance center and home of the famous Bat-Sheva dance group. Besides offering excellent dance and theatre performances, there is a beautiful piazza and small gardens around the building.     • Chlouche House - This house was the first house built in Neve Tzedek in 1886 by Aharon Chlouche.  The house was sold to an Israeli business man and has been operating since 2003 as an art gallery hosting temporary exhibitions.  Israelis would say it gives them a "European sensation", with its high ceilings and 19th century look.  You can stand on the roof top, which has a gorgeous view of Neve Tzedek, while enjoying a light breeze from the sea.

    There are many gorgeous little shops in the area, especially on Shabazi Street.  You can find designer shops, children's clothes, art, pottery and many more boutique shops, which would make even the most reserved shopping fan ecstatic.  You can get a bite to eat in the many cafes and restaurants in the area. Our favorites are Tazza D'oro -a small restaurant-cafe, and NG - a carnivore's heaven.

      During my recent trip to Tel Aviv, I spent an afternoon in Neve Tsedek.
      the most beautiful neighborhood with lots of cafes and little shops.
      I discovered this amazing place called "L'Atelier" .
      I fell in love with it, it's worth the trip to Chelouche St. # 30.
      Not to be missed !!!!!!!

      with this gorgeous quaint 'village'
      area of Tel Aviv, beautiful shops, restaurants, arcitecture, the entire area has a wonderful feel to it, close to the artists quarters of Jaffa, even the little boutique hotel, Nina is quait..chic and charming, just to spend a day there away from the bussle of the centre of Tel Aviv is wonderful, .... if i could, I would live there tomorrow.

      I love Neve Tzedek. I have lived here for 3 years and I can' t imagine a better place to live. Despite being in the center of downtown you can still feel the sense of neighbourhood that you might in a small town or an old village. There are parks and quiet streets but you can walk anywhere in the downtown. The beach is steps from your door step what more could you ask for. If you have the option to stay in Tel Aviv I highly recommend it!

      Neve Tsedek has the best spa also that I have ever been to. It is is right in Suzanne Dallal center called Planet Spa and it has a beautiful boutique in it also. I have a 3 hour package and it was divine

      i would like to recomend the charming little boutique of SAMY D., a very talnted israeli ceramic artist and designer. beautiful artwork and tableware in resonable prices concidering the places his designs are showen and gis internationaly clientele.

      Neve Tzedek is often tucked away and forgotten about, or just skimmed over.

      This place offers a haven for lovers of architecture, arts, crafts, food (and coffee), designer clothes and jewellery, sun, greenery, shopping, history and the list goes on...

      Make sure you spend time on Shabazi Street - the main thoroughfare.

      The success of Neve Tzedek can be owed to the restoration efforts of developers and Tel Aviv - Yaffo City Council - as such, many of the buildings have been restored and rennovated - with modern additions to traditional vernacular buildings creating a dynamic, playful and interesting place to visit.
