One of the nicest areas in Tel Aviv is the Shenkin area, with its Bauhaus buildings, local bars, restaurants, and lovely surrounding Boulevards.
The area around Shenkin Street has long since adopted the title Shenkin. The borders encircling this area are King George St., Yehuda HaLevi St., Allenby and Ben-Zion Blvd., this is the vicinity which Shenkin neighborhood claims as its own.
Shenkin St. offers an abundance of trendy coffee-shops, small restaurants and many designer shops. In the very middle of Shenkin Street, you will find a nice little garden where people sit playing chess or chatting.
The little neighborhood, very much like Neve Tzedek, is a southern neighborhood gone posh. This area has the most beautifully restored Bauhaus buildings, a charactericitc which is apparent when walking down Rothschild Blvd. or Montefiore Street and admiring the architecture.
On Rothschild Blvd. people walk their dogs or baby prams, meet for a quick coffee and sandwich, or read a book while sitting on the wide wooden benches. There are also small playgrounds for children on the Boulevard; minimalist but sweet.
It is a lovely and pleasant area you could enjoy walking through, or even spending a quiet day in, relishing on its laid-back and peaceful atmosphere.

I recommend a great restaurant on that street, Orna v'Ella (Orna and Ella), and there is a separate write-up on the restaurant on the site. Very good food, fun atmosphere, and reasonable prices.
