There is a multitude of activities for all the family in Hayarkon Park. Mini Golf, tandem bike rentals and pony rides, as well as mini train rides through the park to the Puppet Theatre, are just the tip of the iceberg. Feed the ducks and swans amongst exotic plants and rare cacti in the gardens, which are situated alongside the colorful Bird Safari Zoo. Sailing on the Ganaie Yehoshua Lake is a fun pastime for kids and adults alike. Finally, the Memadion water park provides non-stop fun for you and your kids.

Here are a few more specific ideas for family activities in Hayarkon Park:

When the weather permits and it’s not too warm or cold you can go and enjoy a “green” day in Hayarkon park, there are several recommended spots.  If you go to the west side of the park (west side of Ibn Gvirol Avenue), you will bump into many families sitting on the grass and enjoying the sun.

Our tip: Take a blanket, some fruits or a sandwich and enjoy a relaxed picnic in this little spot.

Zoo and Pony ride - There are several outdoor playgrounds for little kids (2+) the best one is in front of “Bavly” neighborhood. In that area you can find a large wooden playground, there is a little zoo and some other fun places for kids. During the weekends kids can even take a ride on a pony horse (20 NIS/4$), or try other entertaining activities in that area.

A Boat ride - Another fun thing to do is to rent a motor boat (150 NIS per hour – 30$) or a pedal boat (70 NIS/15$ per hour) and sail with ease on the Yarkon River.  On the Yarkon river you can see many kids and families having fun together as the kids assist with the rowing.

Renting a Bike - You can also rent a bicycle with a child seat and ride on the bicycle roads ; the bicycle trails are about 5km long (3.5 Miles) and using your bicycles you can explore the less toured paths.

In the north side of the park you can find hundreds of young boys and girls engaging in many different sports: Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Football, Baseball skateboard ramps, and other activities that are suitable for older kids, teenagers and adults.  There is even an impressive climbing wall, if you still have any energy left in you.
