    Established in 1944, the Kameri, Tel aviv’s Municipal Theatre, is one of the most celebrated theatres in Israel

     

    The Kameri Theatre is one of the most celebrated theatres in Israel and has received the majority of National Theatre Prizes over the last few years. Presenting local Israeli productions alongside translated and classic plays, the Kameri tries to introduce the Israeli public to diverse styles and genres of theatre, though it does tend towards the more conservative and less controversial in many senses. Each year the Kameri produces 7-9 new productions and stages them not only at the Performing Arts Center compound, which is its home, but also on stages across Israel, from north to south.
