Charles Clore Park
In March you can expect some rain, a bit of Spanish flamenco, an artistic celebration of womanhood and the notorious Purim hoilday, which has its own special vibe in Tel Aviv.

The 12th Arthur Rubenstein Piano Competition

March 8-27 2008
Honoring one of the most acclaimed pianists in the 20th century (and some might say in the history of classical music), the Arthur Rubenstein International Master Piano Competition is a real joy for classical music lovers and musicians. Over a period of two and a half weeks some of the finest young pianists from around the world will come to Israel to display their skills and hopefully win the golden medal. The competition starts off with recitals then moves on to chamber music and concludes with the orchestral stage, which includes playing a concerto with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. The competition will mostly take place in Tel Aviv (at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Mann Auditorium), but stage II will take place at the Royal Beach in Eilat (+972-8/08-6368888). St. Patrick's Day

Honoring the saint who is said to have brought Christianity to the Irish, St. Patrick's Day has become an International Irish day of celebration across the globe. Check out the local St. Patrick's Day events at Tel Aviv's numerous Irish Pubs (among them Molly Bloom's).

Purim

20-23 of March 2008
The equivalent of the American Halloween but less fear oriented, Purim is perhaps one of the favorite holidays with anyone who is under 12 (maybe even under 30).  But truthfully adults do make some fuss about it, wearing clothing items they would have never dreamt of putting and enjoying themselves thoroughly.  Getting pissed is also a major issue since the Jewish tradition is "to drink until you no longer know" where you are (that of course is the "only" reason why people drink on this holiday).  The parties go on for 3 days so everyone get the chance to put their costumes on and drink till they're jolly.
