Summer events start picking up the pace during June in Tel Aviv. The weather is quite perfect and offers plenty of pleasant days and evenings just before the heat and humidity of July and August kick in.
French Film Festival
29 May - 2 June 2012
And this month's Cinematheque festival (since it does seem as though they have a different one every month) is in French. Many of Tel Aviv's tourists in the last couple of years are French coming to spend their summer vacation on the coast of Tel Aviv, which makes this festival very appropriate tourist-wise. Of course the French film industry is one of the most developed industries, and has I wide selection of new films each year.

Tel Aviv Gay Parade
8 June 2012
One of the two big parades in Tel Aviv, the Gay Parade is a colourful event with an ideological agenda. Trying to promote gay rights and to support the community, each year there is a certain topic or issue which is chosen as the central moral theme. In 2004, for instance, it was gay parenting. The parade is not only a moral statement but also a fun event for all those who support personal freedom and the right of every person to define his or her own identity.
The Gay events will start off with the Eilat Gay Parade on the 10th of May, and the main event will take place in Tel Aviv on the 1st of June and the following weekend. This year, the festival is focusing on promoting gay tourism to Israel, or more specifically, to Tel Aviv. To accommodate this topic, the Gay and Lesbian Union is offering special vacation packages for the Eilat and Tel Aviv Gay Parade weekends. It's going to be a blast, to say the least...
Additionally, the Gay and Lesbian Union in Israel has bid to host the mega parade Euro Pride in 2009, in Tel Aviv. So write it down in your calendar - Euro Pride, in Tel Aviv in 2009!

A White Night
28 June 2012
This is the fourth year that the Municipality of Tel Aviv is arranging a "white night" throughout the city. Restaurants will be open all night offering special deals, there will be late night theatre shows, music, art, special night time tours of the city and much more.
Film lovers can enjoy late night shows at The Cinematheque and Hod Cinema. On Rothschild Boulevardyou can experience the artistic side with special artistic spaces. The main event though, is the International Marathon for Jazz and Avant-garde Music in the Einav Center (above Rabin Square). You could view the full musical program on: www.tlart.net, but – it's in Hebrew…
Luckily enough, to enjoy music, films, food and art no spoken language is really necessary.
