Purim
7-9 March 2012
The equivalent of the American Halloween but less fear oriented, Purim is a favorite holiday with anyone under 12 (maybe even under 30). Adults do make some fuss about the holiday, wearing clothing items they would have never dreamt of putting on, partying till dawn and enjoying themselves thoroughly. Drinking plenty is especially important on this holiday, not only to help one face the fact that they look rediculous in their costumes but since the Jewish Purim tradition is "to drink until you no longer know" where or who you are. The parties go on for 3 days so everyone get the chance to put their costumes on and drink till they're jolly.
