The Clock Tower |
|
One of Jaffa's landmarks, located on the central Yeffet street near the Flea Market.
The Clock Tower is usually the starting point for all tours of Jaffa. It is in the central square and was built by a Turkish Sultan in 1906. At the top of the tower you can see 4 different clocks. In the past they used to show the time in Europe, the local time and the year. The tower has been restored lately and has retrieved some of its old beauty, its claim to fame.
Free Tour:
Every Wednsday at 9:30 there is a free tour of Jaffa in English, given by the municipality.
No need to sign up in advance, meeting point is at the clock tower.
