Catit is a well known restaurant that started out in rural areas outside Tel Aviv, until finally deciding to join the culinary scene of the big city, making itself more available to locals and tourists alike. Lucky us.
This elegant restaurant is located in one of the most beautiful buildings in Tel Aviv and, appropriately, serves the most attractive dishes. The restaurant's chef, Meir Adoni, serves tasty and creative food that makes use of the wonderful local produce available in Israel and gives it a French or Italian twist. The tastes are spectacular and the surroundings are very fetching.
The prices are rather high, with first courses ranging between 70-100 NIS, and main courses starting at 120 NIS (and easily climbing up to 200 NIS). But portions such as the Parmesan Gnocchi with grilled shrimps (78 NIS), or sea-bass with pasta, mushrooms, asparagus and a truffle and porchini mousse (122 NIS), seem to make it all worth while. However, a more econimical option is available in the form of an excellent business lunch that goes for 126 NIS on weekdays and Friday, and for 145 NIS on Saturday. The selection of courses on the business lunch is excellent, and it will give you the opportunity to enjoy an excellent meal without pondering too much over the expense.
The menu changes with the season and the chef's whims, so expect plenty of creative, new dishes each time you visit.
