Mul Yam |
|
|
Chosen in 2003 by "Les Grand Tables du Monde" to be included in the list of the 140 best restaurants in the world, Mul-Yam (meaning "opposite the sea") is indeed a superb restaurant.
Mul Yam's food, wine, service and ambience are superb. The restaurant specializes in fish and seafood and executes this specialty with the most extraordinary skill. The tastes are original yet subtle; a combination which is always favored but especially becomes the delicate tastes of the sea's produce. This restaurant has been carrying the torch for Israeli cuisine for quite a while now, surviving through the financial difficulties Israel has faced in the last years.
The prices in the menu match the restaurant's reputation, so eating here is quite a splurge. But Mul Yam also offers an exquisite business lunch for only NIS 150, to say it is worthwhile is an understatement. Another advantage of the lunch option (besides not going bankrupt) is the daylight, which gives you an oppertunity to really enjoy the proximity of the sea.
The Grilled Langoustine and Lobster dishes are outstanding, but you can take almost anything on the menu and delight in the tastes. The desserts too are excellent.
