Toto |
|
A classy Italian restaurant in downtown Tel Aviv serving simple Italian dishes with an Israeli gourmet twist
Located a few steps away from the Performing Arts Centre and Habima Thatre, Toto is certainly a favorite with business and media people, but its excellent food actually appeals to many, news people or no news people. On the menu you will discover the most mouthwatering selection of appetizers, pastas, pizzas and main courses. The food is truly exceptional and prepared by one of the most talented chefs in Israel, but the price are, in accordance, quite high. Whether you try the fish tartar served with tomatoes, sheep milk yogurt, spinach, seared zucchini and pine nuts (NIS 58); the excellent steak tartar (Nis 64); the browned sweetbreads with the humus, mangold and olive oil stew (NIS 114); or the famous chestnut and truffle gnocchi (NIS 82), you are most likely to thoroughly enjoy every bite you take. The menu changes seasonally, so don’t expect to find all the portions mentioned on the menu.
Needless to say perhaps, but the service is usually excellent.
Alongside the restaurant is the self-service Toto café, which offers a selection of tasty sandwiches, salads and pastries, if you’re on your way to a picnic or a day of excursions.
