Pastis is a charming little Bistro on Rothschild Boulevard, its menu dominated by French and Italian influences .

An Elegant Bistro-Café located on the lovely Rothschild Boulevard.  The specialty is fish and seafood, but very good pasta and meat are also on the menu.  The ambience is fun and laid-back and the service very helpful and friendly.  It's nice to sit outside in the evenings by the small candlelit tables (not on damp summer evenings though!) and enjoy the night air.

One of the place's specialties is Bouillabaisse soup, not entirely up to the French standard but very tasty. Another delicious main course is Sea bass filled with feta cheese and aubergine, the combination does wonders to the fish. On weekdays there are very good business lunches for NIS 40-80.

VERY DISAPPOINTING - service below par - impatient waitress - food not served together - desset took over 15 minutes to arrive, did not arrive together with the excuse - it's being prepared - the maitre was called, went to see what was happening, did not return with reply. one of the diners spoke French, was asked if French menu was required. When reply was yes, was told "we don't have any"! - why bother asking. The only semblance of apology was to offer digestive on the house, which no one felt like having, this being lunchtime. Will not be returning and will not only not recommend restaurant but will tell people who like good restaurants not to go.

Went for dinner this evening (Friday) - party of 10, ages 7 to 69. Service friendly and efficient. Food very good. All seafood dishes were excellent and quite generous portions. Pork ribs and "surf and turf"-type dish also enjoyed. Not outstanding but very pleasant.
