Manta Ray |
|
|
The location of this restaurant is what makes it so unique, but its fare does a good job at keeping the standard the scenery demands.
Manata Ray is only a couple of meters (or feet) away from the sea on Alma beach. Not surprisingly, its veranda overlooking the sea is packed almost every day. The menu naturally offers a selection of fish and seafood, which is usually very pleasant. But one of the nicest things about Manta Ray is the Tapas (small plates of Appetizers). For NIS 13 you can choose between 15 different kinds of Tapas: Aubergine with Cheese, Sardines, Tahini, Salmon tartar and many other nibbles accompanied by homemade Balkan bread. It is absolutely delicious!
The prices of the main courses aren't very moderate and no business lunch is available, but the atmosphere and view are priceless. They serve a very nice breakfast from 9:00-12:00, NIS 25-40, including eggs and bacon, french toast and more. The service is very friendly and efficient.
It's lovely to book a place for around sunset, and eat some Tapas with a glass of wine or Ouzo.
