Located in the heart of the Jaffa Flea Market, Dr Shakshuka is a legendary and popular restaurant that serves simple and nice enough Tripoli food
Located in a strange little open alley connecting a back street of the flea market with one of the main roads, Dr Shakshuka is a long standing restaurant that is famous among locals for its shakshuka (a local spicy tomato sauce and egg dish traditionally eaten at breakfast). The fare is usually fair enough, though not exciting, and there is the occasional disappointment. However, if you stick to the shakshuka and the couscous, you will probably be quite satisfied with your meal. If you come to Dr Shakshuka on Fridays, you are in for a real treat. The owner of the place prepares a huge lamb shawarma and serves it himself to the hungry customers. The shawarma is quite outstanding! A nice, simple and relatively inexpensive place to grab a bite or enjoy some hearty Tripoli cuisine in the heart of Jaffa. 3 Beit Eshel St Tel: +972518656003 Open Sun-Thu 8:00-23:00, Fri 8:00-15:00 |
