Bestowing some Parisian chic upon the Middle Eastern city of Tel Aviv, La Gaterie is a little place that serves the most marvelous stuffed croissants
Open at odd hours of the day and night to cater their enthusiastic clients, La Gaterie’s two branches offer hungry passersby one thing and one thing only – crispy, buttery croissants stuffed with a variety of excellent cheeses, hams and sausages from around the world which are topped off with a poached egg. The combination is really quite phenomenal. Alongside the impressive croissant you can enjoy a selection of tasty handpicked drinks – fizzy apple juice, apple cider, pear cider and cava (and a couple of wines two). This relatively sparse selection keeps customers on track and helps them perfectly balance the tastes.
Not a cheap option, both in terms of price (NIS 29-34 for a croissant) and weight gain, but worth every bite.

    • Anonymous  - So delicious and reasonable, too...!

My cousins who live in Tel Aviv took me here last night for a snack/light dinner. It's VERY small...only about eight seats at a bar, but it wasn't too busy on Sat. night.

The food was so delicious and the cook was very friendly and fast. Very mellow music playing in the background to keep it lively. My cousins tell me there can be a line sometimes but they also set up a few chairs/tables outside the cafe to allow for some overflow.

On the beautiful-and-chic Ben Yehuda street in the middle of everything...don't miss it!

    • Jo  - The best croissants in Tel Aviv!

La Gaterie is one of my favourite places to eat in Tel Aviv. The Croissants are perfect - crispy, melt in your mouth, and the meat +cheese+ poached egg combination is genius! Enjoy a coffee during the day, or a glass of red in the evening, it doesn't get any better.
