Just off Jerusalem Blvd. in Jaffa, you can find this simple restaurant which has been serving the best of Bulgarian cuisine for many years now. Gulash soup, Stuffed Peppers and Meat Kababs - You can sample these dishes and many more in this simple and moderate restaurant. Monka has a steady crowd that keeps coming back for more. On weekends the place can get a little packed, so make sure you reserve a place in advance. The service is friendly and down to earth, with no special ceremonial touches. The food is good, but you should beware of the Bulgarian specialties. Even if you consider yourself as having an adventurous appetite, try to avoid portions such us Lungs in Juice (unless lungs is a favorite). It's a little over the top for those of us who were raised on Western principles of digestion. If you feel like a warm and tasty plate of food, for an almost ridiculous price, in a pleasant atmosphere – This is the place to go. By the way, if it's packed out you can always try Abu-Hasan's second branch, which is only a few steps away. Open: Sun-Sat 9:00-21:00, Fri until 16:00 Address: 15 Yehuda Hayamit St. Tel: (03) 682-0723

I don't know a thing about this restaurant, but am proud to have one named after our family. I hope that it will continue to be successful in the years to come.
Thank you.
