Tel Aviv’s most well know Asian-Fusion restaurant is the Giraffe Noodle Bar, a focal culinary establishment in the city.
Located on Ibn Gvirol Street the lazy outdoor seating area contrasts well with the hectic indoor climate this popular place offers. A mix of Thai, Chinese, Japanese and even Afghan kitchens, all the noodle dishes are excellent and can be changed according to your own personal taste (and pocket). Especially popular are the Imperial and Crispy dishes, which can be ordered “Kosher style” or “Vegetarian”. Dishes are served the moment they are ready, which might lead to some envious glares from your fellow (hungry) tablemates. The appetizers and rice dishes are not bad but the noodle portions are the thing. The portions are huge and you will surely want to leave room for something sweet since the Giraffe is famous for its desserts to die for, they make it worth a visit even if you are not particularly hungry. In recent years the Giraffe has opened a handfull of satellite locations (one of which is in the southern city Eilat) with similar menus and atmosphere, but nothing beats the experience of the original.
