There are many book stores around Tel Aviv which have a fair selection of books in English. There are also very good second-hand places. Here is a short list of some favorite bookshops.
Halper's BooksThis is a wonderful second-hand bookshop which has a very good selection. The main emphasis is own fiction but there are also many books on Philosophy, History, Psychology, Cooking and more (the list just goes on and on…). You could spend hours wandering amongst the dusty shelves and enjoy this wealth of literature.

Opened in 1968, this little shop has since grown in selection and variety and has French fiction, philosophy, cooking and more. The atmosphere is very friendly and the owner extremely helpful.

A surprisingly well-stocked bookshop in the heart of downtown Tel Aviv. reminds me of the old-time second hand shops in nyc before big rents drove them into extinction. Halper's store definately can hold its own up against any of the leading stores in any English speaking country.
