Before I started the ride I went on the port and saw the beautiful beach, the sky were clear and the air was fresh, it was just a moment before I stopped and had a beer in one of the little bars on the port. I started the trip by entering Hayrkon River, and went east following the bicycle trail. This trail is about 5km (4 miles) long for each side. It is easy to follow, and the scenery changes quite frequently. If you are not into sports it’s quite nice to do it slowly and enjoy some of the most beautiful hidden spots in Hayrkon River.
After riding for approximately one mile the park becomes less crowded and if you continue further east you will get to a small lake that is actually in Ramat gan, it’s a nice place to stop, you can rent a boat or just watch the ducks that swim peacefully in that little lake.
Going further east - the trail becomes rugged in this area there are almost no people besides joggers and bikers and when you go with your bikes you will come across fields of flowers, and some woods, there is also a deserted scout’s camp that has some activities in the summer. Right now you are only 2 miles east of Tel Aviv and it feels almost like being in the country side. Go further two miles and you’ll get to the end of this little trail no so far from Ayalon Mall.
{mosimage}The whole trip takes about 45 minutes each side (in a slow pace but without stopping) you can stop and do a little picnic near the lake and if you are lucky catch the sunset back on the beach.
