A pleasant and simple bar right in the center of Tel Aviv. The Ackman has been around for some time now and is still popular. Ackman is a nice bar located in one of the corners of Dizengoff Square (not the center the square!). It's a rather nice place that has known better days but still has what it takes to make an enjoyable drinking evening. There is an oblong bar in the center and couches and tables surround it from all sides. The bartenders know their job, and the ambience is easygoing and friendly. It is considered to be a neighborhood bar, where locals can just pop in for a relaxed drink. There are reasonable little nibbles if the drinking gets you hungry, and the music is usually quite good and not too loud. If you are staying in the Dizengoff area it's a convenient low-key option on weekdays. Open: Sun-Sat 21:00-Last customer. Address: 2 Rynes St. (just off Dizengoff Sq.) Tel: (03) 523-7719 |

The Ackman has now changed owners, and so it has changed its name, but the idea of the place is more or less the same. Maybe a tad sleazier...
