For those who miss a touch of home there are a few pubs in Tel Aviv where you can count on bacon with your eggs and English with your service, the most famous of which is Mike's Place.
Originally from Jerusalem (And still alive and kicking over there), Mike’s has live music every night, great people and is one of the only places to get a burrito in town. The food is the standard greasy pub food you’d expect to find in a place with college football on one TV, cricket on the other and a blues band banging it out, for the finishing touch.
Halloween, The 4th of July and Thanksgiving are all celebrated events, but weekends are also guaranteed to be a party. Friendly ex-pats, tourists and locals will all start chatting with you as if they have known you forever, so it's a great place to mingle and meet people.
If you are staying near the beach, or even if you need to make that extra effort by taking a cab, Mike’s is worth checking out.
