    Many American airline companies have a wide variety of flights to Israel, with or without a layover when traveling from the USA to Tel Aviv. 

    Delta

    Delta offers one of the most comfortable direct flights between JFK and Tel Aviv. All of the major carriers have upgraded their business class service, which will make your 12 hour trip to Israel almost enjoyable.  It should be worth the extra expense, or better yet good use of your Frequent Flyer miles, especially to help reduce the fatigue caused by jetlag.

    Continental

    Continental's business service is perhaps the best, for the service, the food and the reclining beds.  This is the way to fly between Continents.

      I flew the still relatively new non-stop service from Atlanta to Tel Aviv and back on Delta, and I was very pleased. It's a very good option for this trip.

      Word is that Delta plan to add non-stop service from JFK to Tel Aviv starting in September, but at this point, the Atlanta non-stop service is their only option.

      On further reflection, I don't believe Delta does offer service from JFK, only from Atlanta -- as of March 2006.

      Starting in March, Delta has also added daily non-stop service from Atlanta, allowing Israel travelers to avoid the stress and hassle of JFK Airport in New York. For those in the South and Midwest particularly, this is an excellent option.
