    • Aad - Netherlands  - Walking from Ramat Gan to the sea shore and back v

Each summer I stay for a couple of weeks at my mother in law's appartment in Ramat Gan. About two times a week I go for a walk to the beach and back via Park Yarkon. People think I'm crazy, I prefer the hot time of the day to walk. However, I now know the city better than my wife who was born there. Lovely place to be, especially the totally revived old city area in the south.

    • Marianne  - Getting lost in Tel Aviv

I a grandma and I love Tel Aviv. One of my favorite games is "getting lost in Tel Aviv" with my grand children. We jump through any imaginable "shortcut" like in between buildings, small streets and parking lots, and we "get lost"and my grandchildren have to devise ways to get back to known paths... We often discover incredible gems of old backyards and little playing grounds between the buildings, or very old trees and empty houses... it's fun!

    • Guest  - Walking Metro

Walking in Tel Aviv is great! In theory, the city is designed for the pedestrian.

Now things are even better. Thanks to The SPNI (Society for Protection of Nature in Israel) - Tel Aviv chapter there is a "walking metro" or a metro-regel.
Go to the following link and download the map which indicates various "metro lines" (or routes) you can use. It is only in Hebrew at present but just aks your friends, or a stranger in the street and they will help you with what it says!

There are some neighbourhoodss that are harder to get by walking, i would suggest to walk in the city center and then to take a taxi or a bus to out of center locations
