On Hayarkon Street, you will find this pleasant little four star hotel, yet another in the chain of mid-range hotels offered by Atlas in Tel aviv. Basel Hotel is one of five hotels owned by one Atlas Hotels, a local chain that boasts a selection of charming medium sized hotels in Tel Aviv (and Jerusalem). The facilities are a completely up to standard and the rooms are clean and relatively bright, with wide windows which allow plenty of light to come in.
There is a pool outside which seems nice enough, but you might prefer the nearby Gordon Beach, where you can enjoy Tel Aviv's vibrant "beach culture" (if laying in the sun and sipping some beer could be considered culture). I stayed at the Basel Hotel on one of my visits to Tel Aviv in the 1990s. It is a decent hotel at a very good location, right in the beach district and with easy access to the main parts of the city.
The hotel isn't remarkable, but it's fine. I think there are better options even within the same chain, though -- namely, the Melody Hotel, further north on Ha-Yarkon.
