Gordon pool - for smokers only

I have been to Israel twice in July and October. I loved it in July because the sea water is great. The price by the way is sky high at 60/70 shekel is which around £10.
Unfortunately, now in October the pool was a great disappointment. Why? Mainly because smoking permitted around the pool which really spoilt any enjoyment I had.
The Israeli situation around smoking is crazy. They made an anti smoking law like everywhere else in the civilized world but after a few months it just stopped being enforced, so now everyone is law onto themselves in cafes etc and with the Israeli rudeness it’s most unpleasant.
So back to the pool, there are no smoking signs around the pool but that does not mean anything. Nobody pays any attention and the life guards are not helpful either.
After the most unpleasant time where I was abused by a smoker I had asked to stop smoking next to me, I left the pool upset and will not be going back.

Yes indeed! there are beaches along all of the west coast of israel so... in any cities southern of tel aviv (for example a nice beach is Palmahim beach near Rishon Letzion), or norther, like beaches in Hertzelia, or better yet, drive one hour up north to Ceaseria area, abit before or after i\'m not sure -there\'s Tantura beach aka Dor beach which is lovely!! then you have trees behind you and not buildings...! and there\'s a little island you can swim to.. very nice and very tranquil. Enjoy:) - Roney
