One of Tel Aviv’s most well known and loved boutique hotels, the picturesque Hotel Montefiore is located in the trendy heart of the city. The hotel was a private residence before it opened in June 2008 after undergoing a three-year restoration and transformation. It is located on Montefiore Street, just steps away from Tel Aviv’s bustling Rothschild Boulevard and boasts 12 impeccably chic guestrooms and one of Tel Aviv’s adored restaurants.

Hotel Montefiore is part of the R2M chain that owns some of Tel Aviv’s most successful eateries, including, Hotel Montefiore, the Hotel Montefiore Restaurant, The Brasserie, The Coffee Bar, The Bakery (three locations: Ibn Gvirol next to the Brasserie, Yad Harutsim next to The Coffee Bar, and Kikar HaMedina), Rothschild 12, and the Delicatessen.

The building features original Bauhaus architecture, one of the trademarks of Tel Aviv – which is also known as the “White City”. While staying at the hotel it is recommended to have a look around the area at all the old Bauhaus buildings, there are guided tours available.

The hotel is just a 20 minute walk or a short drive to the beach. The Montefiore is the perfect place to say as a business traveler, solo tourists, couples and families (although the hotel does cater to families it is more of an adult-oriented hotel). The location is central and a quick and colorful walk will take you to different marketplaces, shops, and shopping centers. You can also easily take a bus or taxi to any of Tel Aviv’s museums or other cultural sites.

Each of the hotel’s 12 rooms have been stylishly decorated with classic features such as dark hard-wood flooring and high ceilings merged with contemporary luxuries. Eight of the hotel’s rooms feature a balcony. The rooms are filled with floor-to-ceiling libraries stacked with classic books and novels available in multiple languages and the hotel is adorned by art created by Israeli artists.

The hotel pampers guests with treats, including complimentary bottled water, biscuits, exclusively developed bath and beauty products, bathrobes and slippers.

The center of Tel Aviv is only a thirty minute drive from Ben Gurion Airport. As Tel Aviv is such a small and walkable city it is not necessary to rent a car, nonetheless there is private parking on site for guests which costs ILS 50 per day.

The hotel can arrange a shuttle service for guests arriving from the airport.

The taxi and public transportation service in Tel Aviv is good enough to get around easily without a car, and taxis run between the airport and Tel Aviv 24 hours a day.

It is also possible to travel to the hotel by train from the airport. Get off at one of Tel Aviv’s train stations, the trip will take about 15 minutes, and from the station take a taxi to the hotel.

What guests loved most about the hotel: Lovely boutique hotel “This small hotel is an interesting combination of a lively restaurant/bar scene on the ground floor and quiet rooms above. The room, though small, was pleasant, with one wall of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filled with really fascinating books from fiction to art and philosophy. If you like to walk, the location is good, near the Bauhaus buildings and a twenty minute walk to the sea. Though not a buffet breakfast, as a hotel guest you can order anything on the menu. The croissants were among the best we've had anywhere!”
